Running ain't for the faint. It's for the faithful!

I typically run in the mornings at 5:00 am because it's convenient. Boring, but convenient. Often times hard, but necessary. Although I have pretty much retired from racing, I can't meet my fitness goals avoiding what's uncomfortable, challenging and undesirable. That's not how life works either. I know I'm not your typical runner. Running doesn't leave me giddy from the release of endorphins. I've injured my knees, my ankle, blistered my feet and even lost an entire toenail. I've gotten sick, been dehydrated, tripped and fell and gotten lost more times than I care to admit. But truth be told, God used running to help heal me. It changed my body, refocused my spirit and afforded me the opportunity to meet people who I may not have ever met- including the future that He has destined for me. So when you see me sweat, that's the result of a great run. But when you see me smile. That is the result of a great God!
